Role Overview
Join us as a Mental Health Support Worker at our High Support Mental Health Services in Hackney, where you will assist individuals with serious mental health issues to regain confidence, build resilience, and move towards greater independence through tailored, trauma-informed support.
Key Responsibilities
- Foster strong, trustworthy relationships with clients to support their personal goals.
- Develop and maintain personalised support plans, conduct risk assessments, and review progress using recovery-oriented and trauma-aware methods.
- Assist clients in optimizing their finances by supporting benefit access and financial management.
- Empower individuals to acquire independent living skills and maintain their housing.
- Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals, social care teams, and partner agencies.
- Encourage medication self-administration and promote healthy lifestyle choices.
- Document accurately to track service outcomes and promptly address safeguarding and welfare issues.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for compassionate individuals passionate about improving the wellbeing of those with mental health needs. Candidates should possess excellent communication, empathy, and resilience to thrive in a demanding and dynamic environment.
- Experience supporting vulnerable adults or individuals with complex mental health needs.
- Familiarity with recovery-focused and trauma-informed care principles.
- Proficient in communication, report writing, and IT usage.
- Approaches work with kindness, empathy, and without judgment.
- Confidence in working independently, including lone working situations.
- Understanding of safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion principles.

Additional Information
There are two permanent, full-time positions available, with a rotating shift schedule between 8:00 AM and 10:00 PM, including weekends, structured in 7.5-hour shifts.
Please note that Peabody does not offer sponsorship for this role. Applicants will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check. Interviews are scheduled to be held in person on October 29th or 30th at our Hackney site.
