Role Overview
This full-time, on-site Support Worker role based in Bella Vista, NSW, involves assisting clients with personal care, meal preparation, and housekeeping duties. The role encourages clients to maintain and strengthen their independence through support with accessing community activities, attending appointments, and participating in social and recreation programs. Duties also encompass overseeing client wellbeing, accurately recording care activities, adhering to care plans, and communicating concerns to supervisors and healthcare providers. The position demands respectful, trauma-informed approaches, maintaining professional boundaries, and compliance with safety, privacy, and quality standards.
Qualifications and Skills
- Provide person-centered support, encompassing personal care, daily living assistance, and empowerment-focused practices.
- Exhibit strong communication and interpersonal abilities for fostering positive relationships with clients, families, and colleagues.
- Demonstrate organizational and time-management skills to follow care plans, adhere to schedules, and keep detailed records.
- Comprehend safeguarding, privacy, and workplace health and safety protocols relevant to care environments.
- Hold or be pursuing qualifications in individual support, disability, aged care, or community services.
- Previous experience in support roles within disability services, aged care, or related human services is advantageous.
- Be able to work on-site in Bella Vista with flexibility to cover various shifts.
- Possess current clearances including working with children/vulnerable people check, police check, and legal right to work as per local regulations.
