Role Summary
This position entails overseeing and improving the entire supply chain process for e-commerce, direct-to-consumer, marketplaces, and express delivery channels. The role involves handling demand forecasting, inventory control, order fulfillment, logistics, warehouse management, third-party logistics (3PL) oversight, reverse logistics, and initiatives to enhance supply chain efficiency. The manager will be responsible for nationwide operations with a key focus on service levels, turnaround time (TAT), on-time in full (OTIF) delivery, inventory availability, logistics cost reduction, and enhancing customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage demand forecasting and stock replenishment for critical Express SKUs that drive substantial business volume.
- Formulate SKU-level inventory guidelines considering past sales data, demand patterns, lead times, and required inventory coverage.
- Deploy adaptive replenishment systems utilizing daily demand, past sales, current stock, and lead-time metrics.
- Maintain optimal inventory to balance availability, capital efficiency, and minimize stock-outs.
- Conduct SKU segmentation and ABC analysis to prioritize high-value or high-volume items.
- Track inventory aging and support strategies for liquidation of slow-moving and excess stock.
- Oversee comprehensive order fulfillment operations for D2C platforms, Amazon, Flipkart, E-trade, and quick-commerce, ensuring adherence to customer delivery commitments.
- Continuously monitor key fulfillment metrics such as Fill Rate, OTIF, TAT, and on-time handover to enhance performance.
- Analyze dispatch timelines and resolve bottlenecks across manufacturing, warehousing, and logistics.
- Implement process improvements, automation, and controls to elevate order fulfillment efficiency.
- Handle Pan-India logistics through multiple 3PL and transport partners, monitoring performance on delivery TAT, pickups, shipment delays, NDRs, returns, and service coverage.
- Optimize transport models by evaluating cost, delivery time, and service levels, and design alternative logistics frameworks to accelerate deliveries and reduce dependency on traditional networks.
- Manage escalations and corrective measures with logistics partners.
- Lead self-shipment programs for specific e-commerce orders to improve delivery speed and logistics cost-efficiency.
- Pilot next-day delivery initiatives using alternative last-mile delivery methods evaluating geographic, SKU-based, customer promise, and cost factors.
- Drive continuous supply chain cycle time improvements by reducing order fulfillment turnaround times and ensuring on-time handover within 48 hours for made-to-order (MTO) orders.
- Work with manufacturing, warehouse, IT, customer service, and logistics teams to eradicate process bottlenecks.
- Coordinate warehouse and network operations including inventory allocation among plants, warehouses, and demand points to ensure stock availability at strategic locations, especially for express and priority orders.
- Promote warehouse productivity and process enhancements through data-driven analyses.
- Create and monitor supply chain performance dashboards covering metrics such as TAT, OTIF, Fill Rate, Inventory Coverage, Dispatch Efficiency, and Logistics metrics, using Advanced Excel, Power BI, and Tableau.
- Perform detailed root cause analyses using SKU, unit, channel, and location data and develop automated reporting for improved visibility.
- Engage cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Procurement, Sales, E-commerce, IT, Finance, Customer Service, Warehousing, and Logistics teams, and manage partnerships with external 3PLs and tech vendors.
- Lead projects aimed at reducing costs and improving service speed and inventory effectiveness, and regularly report operational results and improvement plans to senior leadership.
