Supervisor - Reservations

Position Overview

The Supervisor of Reservations at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Doha is responsible for monitoring and ensuring the precision of room blocks, reservations, and group market codes while embodying and communicating company culture to new hires. This role requires reviewing and applying updated reservation procedures, managing reservation requests via multiple channels, and identifying guest needs to confirm suitable room types and availability.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Handle reservation requests, modifications, and cancellations received by phone, fax, or mail diligently.
• Clarify guarantee policies, special rates, and cancellation guidelines to guests.
• Approve and record special guest requests accurately.
• Provide information on hotel facilities, services, and accommodation options.
• Utilize effective sales strategies to optimize revenue.
• Maintain and update data in the reservation system systematically.
• Resolve challenges related to rooming requests, escalating issues when necessary.
• Establish appropriate billing accounts consistent with accounting policies.
• Troubleshoot and document guest concerns, referring them as needed.
• Support management in employee training, scheduling, counseling, and motivation.
• Act as a role model and initial contact regarding fair treatment and open door policies.
• Uphold all company policies, maintain professional personal appearance, confidentiality, and safeguard assets.
• Welcome guests warmly, anticipate their needs, and offer sincere appreciation.
• Communicate clearly and professionally in person, on the phone, and in written documents.
• Build and maintain constructive relationships with colleagues.
• Ensure compliance with quality assurance standards.
• Perform physical tasks such as moving items up to 10 pounds as needed.
• Carry out additional reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum education requirement: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• A minimum of 2 years' relevant work experience in reservations or related functions.
• At least 1 year in a supervisory position.
• No specific licenses or certifications required.
