Role Overview

The AML team is critical to supporting business units and compliance across the company by developing and maintaining a regulatory compliance and governance framework of the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate documentation related to new account openings and ongoing account maintenance in accordance with AML standards.
  • Conduct quality audits on both physical and electronic investor files.
  • Research investor profiles and organizational structures to clarify account details.
  • Identify and resolve potential compliance issues.
  • Authorize and confirm the AML status of investor accounts.
  • Mentor and train new team members, fostering employee growth and motivation.
  • Provide performance feedback and assist management in appraisals and development plans.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures among staff.
  • Maintain effective communication with external clients, internal relationship managers, and other business units.
  • Perform quality checks and approvals of client communications.
  • Serve as an AML knowledge resource for colleagues and clients, addressing complex inquiries.
  • Collaborate with the GFSL Anti-Money Laundering Officer to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Approve client reporting on AML documentation, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Identify and escalate high-risk items to the AML Manager within designated timeframes.
  • Support audit processes by reviewing samples and liaising with auditors and risk management.
  • Align team priorities with broader department deliverables.
  • Create and implement quarterly plans to achieve team objectives.
  • Execute ad hoc tasks and participate in project work as needed.
  • Uphold health, safety, and wellbeing responsibilities following the company's Safety Statement.

Candidate Profile

  • Approximately 4 years of AML experience, ideally within Alternatives or Hedge Funds.
  • At least 2 years supervising junior staff, including work allocation and coaching.
  • Familiarity with European financial services compliance and regulations.
  • Strong understanding of EU-driven AML requirements and risk awareness.
  • Project management experience is beneficial.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is essential; proficiency in additional languages is an advantage.
  • Higher education qualification in Finance, Business, Law, or a related field.
  • Proficient with PC software, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word.
