Overview
We are seeking a Supervising Pharmacist to join Tony Walsh Allcare Pharmacy based in Merrion, Dublin 4. This permanent role involves working 45 hours per week with store operational hours from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday; the store remains closed on Sundays. The existing pharmacy team includes a Store Manager, one Relief Pharmacist, one Technician, and five Healthcare Advisors. This position is ideal for pharmacists newly qualified as Supervising Pharmacists.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere strictly to statutory regulations outlined in the Pharmacy Act 2007 regarding the supply of medical products.
- Ensure the community pharmacy maintains high professional standards.
- Engage appropriately in health promotion programs and pharmaceutical care initiatives.
- Participate in continuing education to support ongoing professional development.
- Implement Allcare Pharmacy's policies, procedures, and standard operating practices.
- Maintain effective stock control and proper documentation related to dispensary goods and services.
- Ensure security of stock, property, keys, and ensure safety of staff and customers alongside the Pharmacy Manager.
- Comply with Health and Safety at Work Act requirements and ensure staff adherence.
- Maintain confidentiality of business information, only sharing externally with approval.
- Ensure correct processing and up-to-date management of Department of Health schemes (DPS, LTI, GMS) including monthly submissions and payment reconciliations per company protocols.
- Support the Pharmacy Manager with in-store retail standards, including category management, merchandising, and stock control.
- Keep informed on legislative changes and Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland practice guidance.
Qualifications and Experience
- Pharmacist with membership in the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland and a minimum of three years post-registration experience.
- Experience as a Supervising Pharmacist for 1 to 2 years is highly valued.
- Exceptional attention to detail coupled with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and organizational skills with capability to handle multiple tasks in a busy environment effectively.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
