Primary Purpose of the Role

Act as the watch commander managing and inspiring teams in firefighting, rescue, and emergency response operations to swiftly contain incidents and prevent escalation. Develop and organize drills and training exercises to enhance competencies within the community, ensuring safety in an industrial city environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead on-station shifts, overseeing both routine and emergency duties including drills, exercises, emergency vehicle readiness, and operational preparedness activities.

Required Experience and Skills

• At least 7 years’ experience as a firefighter or equivalent in industrial/commercial firefighting, civil defense, or military firefighting, or a minimum of 3 years serving as a leading fireman within Qatar Petroleum.
• Possession of a valid driving license, preferably for heavy vehicles.
• Competency in operating a wide range of contemporary firefighting and rescue equipment.
• Ability to quickly assimilate and interpret complex incident information under hazardous and confusing conditions and effectively communicate clear instructions to onsite teams.
• Empathy towards fire and accident victims and capability to manage distressing situations.
• Proficient intermediate English communication skills (Level 4 for QatarEnergy) in both speaking and writing.

Educational Qualifications

• Completion of secondary education.
• Certification in Basic Firefighter Levels 1 & 2 (NFPA 1001) plus Breathing Apparatus Wearer Course or equivalent qualifications.
• Successful completion of NFPA 1041 Fire Instructor Level 1 and NFPA Fire Officer Levels 1 and 2.
• Certified First Aider at first responder level, including CPR and AED training.
