Position Overview

Due to ongoing expansion and a robust project schedule, the firm seeks an experienced Structural Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling a variety of projects from initial concept stages through to construction documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee structural engineering projects from conceptual design to detailed design and construction documentation.
  • Perform structural analysis and design predominantly on commercial and industrial assignments.
  • Design structural steel and reinforced concrete structures.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with multidisciplinary consultants, engineers, designers, and project teams.
  • Prepare, review, and manage structural calculations, drawings, and all relevant documentation.
  • Engage actively with clients, architects, contractors, and regulatory bodies during the project's lifecycle.
  • Review project designs and documentation for technical soundness, constructability, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure timely, quality delivery within budget constraints.
  • Manage numerous projects and competing demands independently.
  • Provide technical leadership and maintain consistent communication within the structural engineering team.

Candidate Profile

  • Possess relevant tertiary qualifications in Structural Engineering.
  • Demonstrate solid experience with structural engineering consultancies.
  • Have extensive knowledge and experience related to commercial and industrial structural projects.
  • Skilled in designing reinforced concrete and structural steel frameworks.
  • Experienced in overseeing projects from design phase through documentation and implementation.
  • Strong familiarity with Australian Standards, National Construction Code (NCC), and applicable engineering regulations.
  • Proven ability to coordinate with consultants and effectively work with architects, contractors, and clients.
  • Strong expertise in structural analysis and design.
  • Proficient in structural engineering software such as RAPT, Microstran, SPACE GASS, and Inducta SLABS.
  • Excellent skills in reviewing technical documentation and drawings.
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Capable of autonomous work, balancing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with a high commitment to delivering quality work.
