Structural Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for an accomplished Structural Engineer with over a decade of hands-on experience to lead structural design efforts and ensure the successful execution of advanced construction projects. This position is based in Dubai and demands a blend of technical proficiency, leadership, and collaborative skills to deliver safe and innovative structural solutions that comply with all relevant codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Head the conceptualization and detailed design of complex structural frameworks for various projects including residential, commercial, and industrial sectors.
• Oversee all structural components throughout the project lifecycle, guaranteeing adherence to quality and safety norms along with efficient implementation.
• Assure full compliance with applicable local and international building codes, statutes, and engineering practices.
• Liaise with clients, architecture teams, contractors, and other key parties to maintain alignment on project objectives and expectations.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to structural design and onsite construction challenges.
• Perform thorough site inspections and offer expert resolution strategies for deviations or issues encountered.
• Champion sustainable engineering methods, innovative technologies, and utilization of advanced materials within structural design and implementation.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers to foster skill development and technical excellence within the team.
• Prepare, review, and authorize comprehensive engineering documentation including reports, calculations, and project records.

Required Qualifications and Expertise

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is mandatory, with a strong preference for candidates holding a Master's degree in Structural Engineering.
• Possession of a Professional Engineer (PE) license or an equivalent certification is essential for this role.
• At least 10 years of professional involvement in structural engineering, demonstrating leadership capabilities on sizeable projects.
• Advanced command of structural analysis and design software such as ETABS, STAAD Pro, SAFE, SAP2000, AutoCAD, and Revit is required.
• Comprehensive knowledge of cutting-edge construction materials, techniques, and seismic design criteria.
• Exemplary project management skills focused on time and budget adherence.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to effectively manage stakeholders and lead teams.
• Awareness of green building methodologies and sustainability certification frameworks like LEED and GRIHA, alongside modern structural innovations.

Certifications

• Certification by Dubai Municipality or Ras al Khaimah Municipality is mandatory.
• Registration with the Society of Engineers is also required.
