An exciting opportunity is available for a skilled Structural Draughtsman to become part of a growing engineering consultancy located in Cork City, Ireland. The role involves preparing structural drawings, BIM models, and technical documentation for diverse building projects. Working collaboratively with engineers, architects, contractors, and design team members, the candidate will contribute from project inception through to construction, ensuring precision, regulatory compliance, and timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed structural layouts, reinforcement drawings, and construction documents utilizing AutoCAD and Revit software.
• Develop and manage 3D Building Information Modeling (BIM) models across various construction initiatives.
• Facilitate coordination of drawings with engineers, architects, surveyors, and external specialists.
• Generate accurate technical drawings that align with Irish building regulations and project-specific requirements.
• Update and revise drawings in response to design modifications and client feedback.
• Assist with the preparation of documentation for planning, tender submissions, and construction phases.
• Perform drawing reviews and quality checks to guarantee accuracy and compliance standards.
• Participate in project meetings and conduct site visits as needed.
• Maintain registers for drawings, document control systems, and uphold BIM standards.
• Contribute to ongoing process improvements within the design team.

Essential Requirements

• Must hold EU/UK citizenship or have legal authorisation to work in Ireland.
• Possess a Degree, Diploma, or Higher Certificate in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related fields.
• Have at least 3 to 5 years of experience in structural drafting relevant to the Irish construction sector.
• Demonstrable track record in creating structural drawings for projects including residential, commercial, educational, and industrial buildings.
• Advanced skills in using AutoCAD and Revit software platforms.
• Strong knowledge of Irish Building Regulations and construction norms.
• Excellent command of English, both spoken and written.
• Hold a valid driver's license with the capacity to travel to project sites when necessary.
• Experience in drafting structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and foundation details.
• Thorough understanding of construction methodologies, structural systems, and detailing standards.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary design teams.
• Capacity to handle multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines efficiently.
