About the Role
We are seeking a Stores Controller for a well-established manufacturing business in Clacton-on-Sea. This permanent, full-time position offers an excellent opportunity for an individual with prior experience in stock control, inventory management, or stores operations. The role is crucial for maintaining stock accuracy, conducting quality checks on incoming goods, resolving discrepancies, and managing inventory records within a dynamic manufacturing setting. Responsibilities
- Conduct quality inspections on incoming materials and goods, generating reports on inspection outcomes.
- Identify and report any non-conforming products.
- Investigate stock discrepancies and inventory-related issues.
- Perform cycle counts and stock audits to ensure accuracy.
- Process stock adjustments, transfers, and goods receipts.
- Maintain precise stock records using the company's ERP/WMS systems.
- Ensure correct labelling and storage of stock in designated locations.
- Monitor stock that is damaged, failed, or quarantined.
- Support investigations into the root causes of stock and quality problems.
- Collaborate effectively with Purchasing, Operations, and Finance departments.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for inventory and quality processes.
- Adhere to all Health & Safety procedures.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a Stores, Stock Control, or Inventory Control role.
- Familiarity with Logistics, Distribution, and Supply Chain principles.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Experience in a manufacturing, production, or warehouse environment is essential.
- Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Experience with ERP or Warehouse Management Systems is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- A proactive and well-organized approach to tasks.
- A current Counterbalance forklift license or previous forklift experience would be advantageous but is not mandatory.

Additional Information
