Job description
Overview
The Storeperson role centers on the secure and effective handling of warehouse receipt and dispatch operations. This position ensures that stock is received, stored, and dispatched accurately and promptly while collaborating with both internal teams and external partners to support operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere rigorously to all relevant safety policies and the Chain of Responsibility mandates.
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments, verifying against purchase orders and delivery notes.
- Document and communicate any issues such as damages or discrepancies found during receiving.
- Label and promptly store all incoming inventory in their assigned locations.
- Prepare and package orders for dispatch in line with company and client standards.
- Work in coordination with logistics providers to guarantee timely collection and delivery of goods.
- Complete and maintain all shipping documentation accurately.
- Conduct periodic inventory counts and reconcile stock to uphold precise inventory data.
- Operate necessary computer systems and software integral to warehouse operations.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards within warehouse and storage areas.
- Detect and report obsolete or slow-moving inventory to management.
- Carry out warehouse tasks with accuracy to reduce errors.
- Support Warehouse Supervisors by assisting in office administration tasks as needed.
Collaborative Relationships
- Work closely with procurement to ensure timely fulfillment of orders.
- Coordinate internally across departments to smooth warehouse processes and resolve operational issues.
- Engage externally with customers for inquiries and problem resolution professionally.
- Build and maintain productive partnerships with suppliers and logistics entities to support efficiency.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Possession of a forklift license and proficiency with warehouse machinery.
- Strong organizational capabilities and keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Capability to function both independently and collaboratively within teams.
- Competency with inventory management software and basic computer applications.
- Thorough understanding of safety regulations and Chain of Responsibility principles.
- Familiarity with warehouse and inventory control procedures.
- Experience conducting stock takes and inventory reconciliation.

Additional Information
