Job description
Job Overview
This role involves receiving and organizing goods by department, ensuring proper storage on site, and delivering items to the appropriate departments. The storekeeper is responsible for stacking goods on pallets or carts and completing stock and supply request forms. Prompt reporting of low inventory levels to managers or supervisors is essential.
Key Duties
- Receive deliveries, properly store perishable products, and rotate inventory to maintain freshness.
- Inspect incoming shipments for freshness, cleanliness, quality, and packaging integrity, rejecting damaged or incorrect items.
- Follow food safety guidelines and handling procedures for all food-related areas.
- Maintain cleanliness and disinfect refrigerators, freezers, floors, food equipment, and drains.
- Remove empty pallets, cartons, and waste, placing them in designated storage areas.
- Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management promptly.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, maintain a neat and professional appearance, protect proprietary information, and safeguard company assets.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with guests and colleagues.
- Foster positive working relationships to support team objectives and uphold quality assurance standards.
- Perform physical tasks such as stretching, bending, kneeling, crawling, lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds, climbing stairs or ramps, and standing or walking for extended periods.
- Carry out other reasonable duties as directed by supervisors.
Qualifications and Experience
- Secondary school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
- No prior related work experience or supervisory experience is required.
- No licenses or certifications are necessary.
