Position Overview
The Shift Supervisor role focuses on overseeing daily team activities during shifts to maintain standards related to staff, product quality, cleanliness, and delivering an outstanding customer experience. This role includes managing stock levels for the Skechers brand.
Key Responsibilities
- People Management: Lead by example promoting respect for team members and customers; address issues promptly during shifts; provide clear guidance; foster a motivating and enjoyable work atmosphere; train and monitor new hires; communicate team performance to the Store Manager; ensure adequate staff coverage and step into active roles during peak periods to uphold service quality.
- Hospitality Management: Prioritize guest satisfaction as a role model; reinforce positive customer service behaviors among staff; engage guests warmly with prompt attention; handle customer complaints effectively by transforming challenges into positive experiences.
- Operations Management: Enforce compliance with Tim Hortons operational standards; ensure proper merchandising and stock levels; manage shift cash handling processes; optimize operational efficiency through scheduling; supervise completion of primary and secondary tasks by team; uphold store policies on cash, breaks, food safety; stay updated on new products and promotions; assist Store Manager in boosting sales and transactions; complete all required shift paperwork; escalate issues to superiors when necessary.
- Health & Safety: Adhere to safe work practices and wear protective equipment as required; report any injuries, accidents, unsafe conditions, or security events to management; avoid unsafe operation of equipment; guarantee compliance with health and safety policies during shifts including proper reporting.
- Cashiering: Oversee technical equipment functionality in store; verify cash till accuracy at shift start and ensure sufficient change; handle payments via cash, cards, vouchers, or automatic debits accurately; issue receipts, refunds, or change; maintain clean and organized checkout areas.
