Role overview
Ryman is hiring a Store Manager for its Glasgow Road, Westmoreland, Jamaica location. This position is offered for 37.5 hours per week and focuses on leading the store team, improving commercial performance, and maintaining high standards across customer service, operations, and compliance.
What you will do
In this position, you will guide a strong team and help grow store turnover and revenue by applying lean working practices. A major part of the job is to keep a close eye on financial measures such as wages, wastage, and shrinkage, along with non-financial indicators like customer feedback, internal audit results, standards, and compliance.
- Resolve customer complaints and difficult situations with confidence and professionalism, while helping colleagues understand the importance of building customer loyalty.
- Create a service-led culture in which the team welcomes customers warmly, identifies their needs, recommends suitable products using strong product knowledge, and drives add-on sales through promotions and upselling.
- Make sure the team understands sales and KPI targets, receives the support needed to beat them, and gets performance issues addressed promptly.
- Control spending carefully and keep all controllable costs within approved budgets.
- Work closely with store colleagues and Retail Support teams on stock, store layout, promotions, training, development, and employee relations matters.
- Recruit, develop, and retain high-quality colleagues who reflect the values and behaviours of Ryman and TPRG.
- Plan store staffing effectively so the business can operate profitably within agreed budget levels.
- Encourage a coaching and development mindset across the store.
