Role Overview
The Store Manager at PAK’nSAVE Masterton is a full-time position based onsite, responsible for supervising daily store activities to ensure an efficient and customer-oriented shopping atmosphere. This role entails managing the store team through recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, performance management, and fostering a secure and inclusive work environment. The manager monitors sales, profit margins, inventory levels, and visual merchandising to uphold PAK’nSAVE's commitment to low prices and quality products.
Key daily duties include managing budgets, applying loss prevention techniques, overseeing promotions and merchandising, and making sure that health, safety, and food quality rules are followed. The manager also addresses customer feedback, resolves complaints, and collaborates with leadership to continuously improve store performance and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong dedication to customer service with the ability to address feedback and resolve customer issues positively.
- Demonstrated experience in store management within retail or supermarket settings, including staff leadership, scheduling, and operational control.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, able to engage and coordinate with diverse teams and cross-departmental partners.
- Knowledge of retail loss prevention, including stock management, reducing shrinkage, and store security compliance.
- Experience in managing sales goals, inventory control, and merchandising in a high-volume retail environment.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced workplace, make informed decisions, and manage priorities when under pressure.
- Familiarity with basic computer and point-of-sale systems; experience with retail analytics or reporting tools is a plus.
- A relevant educational background in business, retail management, or a related area is preferred, or equivalent leadership experience.
- A commitment to health and safety standards along with inclusive leadership and support of team diversity.
