Copenhagen Coffee Lab is a handcrafted coffee roastery, wholesaler, café, and bakery brand originating in Copenhagen in 2013. With a growing presence across Europe, including 50 cafés in Denmark, Germany, France, and Portugal, they focus on delivering exceptional coffee and pastry experiences while cultivating an inviting community atmosphere.

Role Overview

We are seeking a passionate and energetic Store Manager to lead the café in Cologne, Germany. This leadership role involves managing daily café operations, inspiring a talented team, and delivering high-quality guest experiences in a vibrant environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the team by example, ensuring outstanding customer service and setting high standards.
  • Manage all café activities to guarantee smooth daily operations.
  • Recruit, train, and support staff to promote professional growth and maintain strong performance.
  • Oversee employee performance, focusing on sales, customer relations, and individual development.
  • Ensure consistent high quality of food and beverages served.
  • Create and manage work schedules to ensure adequate shift coverage, stepping in when needed.
  • Serve as the communication conduit between the café and other company departments.
  • Analyze performance metrics and utilize data to enhance store results.
  • Develop and enforce store policies and maintain adherence to company standards.
  • Manage supplier relationships, inventory, and supply ordering effectively.
  • Apply financial protocols ensuring responsible management of store finances.
  • Maintain a tidy café environment with regular upkeep of equipment.
  • Comply strictly with HACCP and food safety regulations, prioritizing hygiene and safety.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings to promote communication and team involvement.
  • Attend cluster meetings and weekly one-on-one sessions with the District Manager.
  • Handle administrative duties such as inventory management, scheduling, and sales reporting, dedicating no more than 20% of working time to such tasks.
  • Work additional hours including every other weekend and at least one opening and one closing shift per week, ensuring smooth store functionality and team support.

  • Fluent conversational German and English skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with a background in managing and developing teams.
  • Strong dedication to fostering a positive, inclusive, and collaborative workplace culture.
  • Excellent organizational skills with an ability to prioritize and multitask efficiently.
  • Superior communication abilities to inspire and motivate colleagues.
  • Knowledgeable in HACCP and relevant food safety standards.
  • Willingness and flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Passion for quality coffee and pastries.
