Role Overview
As the Store Manager, you will oversee every facet of the store’s retail operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness. Your leadership will inspire and motivate your team to deliver exceptional customer experiences, maintain fresh food standards, and achieve key store performance indicators continually. Promoting a positive health, safety, and environmental culture with a proactive and safety-first mindset is crucial.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the store, guaranteeing smooth and efficient functioning.
- Collaborate closely with the Regional Store Manager to establish, monitor, and accomplish sales targets related to gross profit margin, net margin, waste reduction, and other critical KPIs.
- Ensure all new hires receive comprehensive induction and training aligned with company policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Maintain high security and health and safety standards to protect both staff and customers, including adherence to COVID-19 safety protocols.
- Promote and facilitate staff engagement in upselling promotional offers, providing training on identifying opportunities and techniques for effective upselling.
- Take charge of stock control processes, ensuring compliance with company standards.
- Manage employee scheduling and leave records while strictly following GDPR regulations regarding personal data protection.
- Maintain excellent merchandising and store presentation in line with relevant planograms and guidelines; ensure social distancing measures are observed per government directives.
- Adopt and lead new initiatives and operational approaches with enthusiasm, setting a positive example for the team.
Candidate Profile
We seek motivated individuals with strong leadership, resilience under pressure, and the ability to cultivate a positive, safe, and inclusive workplace environment. Essential qualifications include:
- Minimum 2 to 3 years of dynamic retail management experience.
- Demonstrated ability to manage teams effectively and excellent communication skills.
- Proven success in achieving KPIs and hitting targets.
- Hands-on experience with stock management, financial management, and reporting systems.
- Strong competency in analyzing and acting on reports.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
