Store Keeper

Overview

The role of Store Keeper centers around managing and overseeing inventory storage and movements to facilitate smooth store operations. The incumbent must ensure precision in stock records and maintain material quality and safety throughout the handling process.

Key Result Areas and Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate inventory data and confirm physical stock aligns with system records.
• Receive materials as per purchase orders, verify quantities and quality, and document through Goods Receipt Notes.
• Distribute materials to authorized departments strictly following requisitions.
• Keep stock registers, bin cards, ERP entries, and other inventory documents up-to-date and precise.
• Ensure materials are stored correctly with proper labeling and preservation measures.
• Perform routine physical stock verifications and resolve any inconsistencies.
• Track stock levels, notifying relevant teams when replenishment thresholds are crossed.
• Detect and report obsolete, damaged, expired, or slow-moving stock for corrective action.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in storage areas, adhering to safety and handling protocols.
• Prepare and submit regular stock reports—daily, weekly, and monthly—along with all supporting documentation.
• Coordinate the timely packing, loading, and dispatching of materials where applicable.
• Implement controls to minimize pilferage, wastage, damage, and unauthorized stock movements.
• Ensure adherence to standards necessary for internal, external, and inventory audits.
• Liaise effectively with Purchasing, Production, Accounts, Maintenance, and other departments to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
