Job Overview
The Store Driver at Advance Auto Parts is responsible for the accurate and safe transportation of automotive parts to professional customers, ensuring excellent customer service while supporting store operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick, stage, and deliver parts to professional customers ensuring safety throughout the process.
- Collect product returns and cores during deliveries.
- Distribute weekly and monthly sales flyers promoting current deals and loyalty programs.
- Perform daily collections on credit accounts.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with both MainStreet and National professional customers, offering valuable insights to the Customer Parts Professional (CPP) from delivery interactions.
- Support upselling and cross-selling initiatives to increase the average transaction size.
- Maintain store cleanliness including floors, bathrooms, aisles, dusting, and parking areas.
- Stock inventory including truck stock, back stock, and conduct cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory levels.
- Remain knowledgeable about store inventory and new products to assist sales efforts effectively.
- Engage walk-in customers to assess their needs and recommend appropriate automotive parts or services.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proficient in English, both spoken and written; Spanish language skills are a plus.
- Ability to communicate clearly and establish strong relationships with customers, colleagues, and leadership teams.
- Capable of reading and interpreting safety rules, maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals.
- Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, with the ability to handle various units of measurement using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Flexibility to work varied schedules including days, evenings, and weekends as required.
- Confident engaging customers and promoting store products.
- Willingness to learn about new products and sales techniques continuously.
Preferred Experience and Education
- Previous experience in automotive parts is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Licenses and Certifications
- A valid driver's license with a clean and acceptable driving record is mandatory.
Physical and Work Environment Demands
The role involves predominantly standing or walking during work hours. Employees need to communicate clearly, use both hands dexterously, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. Frequent lifting or moving items up to 50 pounds and occasional assisted lifting up to 100 pounds is required. Visual abilities include close and distance vision, color perception, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Work conditions primarily involve indoor environments, with occasional exposure to outdoor weather during tasks such as installation of batteries and wiper blades. Exposure to mechanical parts, elevated locations, chemicals, electrical risks, explosives, and vibrations may occur. Noise levels are typically moderate.
