Steward

Overview

The Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in the kitchen areas while ensuring proper care of restaurant equipment and utensils. This position supports culinary and service teams by fostering a safe, sanitary, and efficient workspace that enhances guest satisfaction.

Primary Duties

• Regularly sweep and mop kitchen floors to uphold cleanliness.
• Clean dishes, pots, pans, trays, and glassware by hand or using dishwashing machines.
• Sanitize worktables, kitchen walls, refrigerators, and other surfaces.
• Dispose of waste appropriately and maintain garbage bins.
• Sort and manage recyclable materials, including bottles.
• Polish silverware and utensils as necessary.
• Move supplies and equipment between storage and workstations.
• Support banquet table arrangements when required.
• Assist with washing and peeling vegetables or perform basic food preparation tasks.
• Organize and rotate inventory in storage areas, ensuring cleanliness.
• Perform additional assigned tasks as necessary.

• Strong focus on maintaining sanitation, safety, and cleanliness standards.
• Ability to efficiently operate in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable team player exhibiting a robust work ethic.
• Adaptable to a variety of kitchen and stewarding responsibilities.
• Organizational ability to keep workspaces and storage orderly.
• Prior experience in stewarding, kitchen support, or hospitality is preferred.
• Knowledge of commercial dishwashing machinery and cleaning protocols is advantageous.
• Experience working within a high-volume, team-focused setting is desired.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
