Steward

Position Summary

The Steward plays a crucial supportive role across various hotel departments including kitchen, food and beverage, and laundry. This role involves preparing clean linens and polished dining ware for guests, managing and operating cleaning machines such as dish washers and linen washers, and transporting dishware and linens within the hotel premises. The Steward contributes to maintaining hygiene and supporting smooth hotel operations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to company safety policies and procedures.
• Uphold quality standards in hygiene and service, ensuring spotless and fresh items for guest use.
• Operate cleaning equipment effectively including dish washing machines, hand wash stations, and linen washers/dryers.
• Transport and handle dishware and linens carefully across different hotel areas.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues from various departments to support teamwork and common goals.
• Report any accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions promptly to management.
• Perform physical tasks such as moving, lifting (up to 50 pounds), bending, stooping, and standing or walking for extended periods.
• Carry out other reasonable duties as directed by supervisors.

Required Qualifications

• No formal education such as a high school diploma or G.E.D. is required.
• No prior related work or supervisory experience is necessary.
• No specific licenses or certifications are required.

This position is full-time and based at the Le Méridien Hotel in Lusail, Qatar (Building No. 153, Street No. 347, P.O. Box 4010).
