Job description
Role Overview
As a Utility Cleaner (Steward) within our hotel environment, you will play a crucial part in supporting various operational departments, including the kitchen, food and beverage services, and laundry. Your responsibilities will involve preparing clean linen and germ-free dining ware for guests, operating and maintaining cleaning equipment such as dishwashers and laundry machines, and transporting dishware or linens throughout the hotel. This role requires adherence to safety protocols, company policies, and quality standards while presenting a professional appearance and communication style.
Key Duties
- Ensure a safe working environment by following all safety guidelines and reporting unsafe conditions to management.
- Clean and prepare linens and dining ware to meet strict cleanliness and quality expectations.
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment including dishwashing machines, hand wash stations, and linen washers and dryers.
- Transport clean or soiled dishware and linens across various hotel departments as needed.
- Engage in physical activities such as lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and support team objectives.
- Attend to other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors, including standing, sitting, walking, bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping for extended periods.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: No high school diploma or G.E.D. required.
- Work Experience: No prior related experience necessary.
- Supervisory Experience: Not required.
- Certifications or Licenses: None required.
