Stenographer

Role Summary

We are looking to hire a precise and skilled Stenographer on a contractual basis to work at Audit Bhawan, Bangalore, Karnataka. The candidate will be responsible for generating accurate transcripts in real time during meetings, hearings, speeches, and legal or administrative proceedings by utilizing shorthand techniques or steno machines. Exceptional typing speed, attentive listening, and mastery over language and grammar are critical for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities

• Capture spoken content instantly through stenographic tools including shorthand and steno mask methodologies.
• Convert audio and verbatim notes into polished, accurate formal reports, records, or legal documents.
• Ensure all transcripts are grammatically correct, punctuated properly, and adhere to legal or technical formatting standards.
• Maintain organized archives of confidential transcripts and audio materials for efficient access and retrieval.
• Provide general clerical assistance such as drafting letters, managing calendars, and assembling documentation as required.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proficient shorthand/stenography skills with a typing speed ranging from 50 to over 100 words per minute, maintaining high accuracy.
• Education meeting at least the high school level; an associate degree or certification in stenography is preferred.
