Job Overview

We invite applications for the role of Steel Fixer to join our Dubai-based construction team. This role is vital in ensuring the structural soundness of projects by accurately placing and securing reinforcing steel in line with engineering guidelines and local building codes. Key Responsibilities

• Carefully position and secure steel reinforcement bars and mesh within concrete formwork, adhering strictly to approved drawings and specs.
• Interpret construction blueprints, structural layouts, and technical documents to guarantee correct steel placement.
• Utilize approved techniques and materials to tie and bind steel reinforcements, ensuring alignment integrity.
• Conduct inspections of steel positioning to verify compliance with project and UAE building regulations.
• Manage and organize steel materials on site, ensuring they are properly stored and readily accessible.
• Work collaboratively with construction personnel, engineers, and supervisors to synchronize steel fixing tasks.
• Keep detailed records of completed works and material consumption.
• Adhere rigorously to safety protocols, including using personal protective equipment and maintaining hazard awareness.
• Identify and promptly report any safety risks or structural issues to supervisors.
• Perform quality verifications to confirm all steel reinforcement meets design criteria before concrete is poured.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Established experience as a Steel Fixer or in reinforcement steel installation on construction projects.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specs accurately.
• Thorough understanding of steel fixing methods, related tools, and equipment.
• Knowledge of UAE construction codes, safety standards, and regulations.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Physically capable of performing manual labor and working safely at heights.
• Keen attention to detail to uphold quality standards.
• High safety consciousness and dedication to preventing accidents.
• Competence working effectively within a team environment.
• Preferred qualifications include experience using CAD software or managing digital construction documentation.
• Preferred background includes work on high-rise or significant infrastructure projects.
• Experience supervising or mentoring junior steel fixers is an asset.
