About Abbott Ireland Diabetes Care Division, Donegal
Abbott, established in 1946, provides a wide array of healthcare products to the Irish market, with approximately 6,000 employees across ten locations including Dublin, Donegal, Clonmel, Cootehill, Galway, Kilkenny, Longford, and Sligo. The Diabetes Care Division based in Donegal Town specializes in producing FreeStyle blood glucose test strips and sensors, such as FreeStyle Precision, FreeStyle Lite, and FreeStyle Libre systems used in diabetes management.
Role Overview and Responsibilities
- Independently extract and analyze extensive, complex datasets to address specific research or investigative queries, demonstrating a keen investigative approach to utilize supporting documentation for deeper data understanding.
- Deliver timely data analysis assistance to manufacturing teams, facilitating process improvements, material performance assessments, programming tasks, and yield evaluations.
- Interpret statistical results strategically, translating findings into meaningful business insights.
- Advise junior team members and engineers on data analysis methods and statistical tools, supporting activities such as trend and root cause analyses, failure investigations, risk evaluations, data management, and visualization.
- Contribute to technical investigations within the manufacturing environment.
- Support the implementation of new analytical test methods and development trials, including analysis of variance, setting acceptance thresholds, and capability analyses, working toward minimizing measurement variability.
- Collaborate with scientists and engineers in introducing new machinery, materials, and processes, participating in experimental design and data interpretation.
- Effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously, engaging stakeholders to establish business questions, timelines, and objectives.
- Consistently present and communicate statistical outcomes clearly to a variety of personnel levels.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Possession of a Bachelor's degree or higher in quantitative disciplines such as Mathematics, Data Science, Statistics, Applied Statistics, or Biostatistics.
- At least four years of relevant experience in a comparable statistical role.
- Proficiency in statistical programming languages or software such as Python, R, SAS, JMP, or others.
- Strong foundation in statistical concepts including probability, statistical process control, hypothesis testing, non-parametric methods, time series analysis, and regression techniques (both linear and logistic).
- Experience working with relational database systems like Oracle, MySQL, or Microsoft Access.
