About the Team and Role

The Enterprise Business Services team at Walmart Global Tech India is focused on creating a strong and efficient organization delivering service operations and technological solutions covering Finance, HR, and Digital experiences. This team handles supplier payments for Walmart's warehouses across the United States and 26 other countries including South Africa, Argentina, Canada, and more, ensuring accurate and timely reconciliation of merchandise invoices.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural decisions and set best practices for scalable application development.
• Oversee design, coding, implementation, and documentation activities.
• Develop, test, and deploy robust solutions impacting Walmart associates globally.
• Collaborate with engineering teams worldwide to share expertise and contribute to the technology community.
• Work closely with Product Management and Business teams to set priorities and deliver exceptional products.
• Apply technical expertise to design and implement enhanced processes supporting strategic initiatives.
• Coordinate with Architects and other cross-functional teams to ensure solutions meet quality, cost, and delivery standards within architectural guidelines.
• Partner with senior leadership to plan future product roadmaps.
• Participate in hiring and build high-performing agile teams.
• Engage directly with Business owners and technical teams both locally and internationally to gather requirements.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with at least 10 years experience in software design, development, and automated deployments.
• Proven experience building highly scalable Java applications involving large-scale data processing, proficient with Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and Spark.
• Strong expertise in system design (high-level and low-level), especially data-intensive applications using open stack technologies.
• Solid foundation in computer science fundamentals including microservices, data structures, algorithms, and problem-solving.
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Git, Maven, and Jenkins.
• Skillful in writing modular, testable code using frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, and Mock MVC.
• Hands-on experience designing Java backend systems and cloud-based solutions.
• Good understanding and practical experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems concepts.
• Proficiency in Spring Boot, concurrency mechanisms, garbage collection, RESTful web services, caching, and ORM tools.
• Experience with relational databases including complex OLAP and OLTP SQL queries.
• Ability to evaluate alternatives for development libraries, tools, and frameworks.
• Knowledge working with NoSQL databases like Cosmos DB and caching technologies such as Redis or Memcached.
• Experience with event-driven systems like Kafka.
• Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools like Prometheus and Splunk; strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
• Exposure to containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker, Helm, and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of public cloud platforms like Azure or Google Cloud Platform is a plus.
• Understanding of mainframe databases is an advantage.
