Role Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain performant, adaptable, and scalable software solutions that enhance the guest experience in restaurants, specifically architecting AI agent frameworks for Marketing and Demand Generation with reliability, scalability, and security at the core.
• Work closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to align solutions and progress.
• Keep a hands-on engineering role by writing code, prototyping innovative designs, and overcoming complex performance hurdles.
• Collaborate with Principal-level engineers across the company to synchronize on best practices involving agent architectures and specification-driven development.
• Mentor and uplift engineers within the team, nurturing a culture focused on technical excellence and continual learning.
• Lead feature delivery end-to-end from ideation and design through deployment, monitoring, and iterative improvement based on live usage.
• Be a highly collaborative teammate dedicated to collective team success.
• Integrate cutting-edge AI tools into development workflows to boost productivity and pioneer new software development methodologies.
• Coach less experienced engineers through code reviews and constructive feedback, while promoting use of AI-augmented engineering techniques.

Skills and Experience Required

• At least 8 years of experience in backend or full-stack software engineering with a strong track record of delivering impactful products.
• Ability to comprehend and integrate with frontend systems and a willingness to work across the stack when necessary.
• Keen interest in agentic software development, large language model (LLM) integration, and modern software paradigms.
• Comfort working in ambiguous, agile environments and delivering small, functional software increments frequently.
• Genuine enthusiasm for solving user problems and seeing products succeed in real-world use.
• Solid grounding in software development principles including writing quality code, unit testing, and clean coding practices, open to adopting AI-enhanced workflows.
• Strong communication skills to effectively convey technical ideas to engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders alike.
• A growth mindset marked by curiosity, openness to feedback, and aspiration to broaden ownership and responsibilities.
• Balanced capability in designing high-level technical solutions as well as deep engagement with detailed coding and system performance optimization.
• Excellent articulation of complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Technology Stack

• Backend services primarily built with Java and Kotlin.
• React single-page applications using Tailwind CSS, GraphQL, and Storybook.
• Android applications developed in Java and Kotlin deployed in restaurants.
• AI agent development tools such as Claude Code incorporated regularly.
• Databases including PostgreSQL and DynamoDB for core persistence needs.

Additional Information

This role follows a hybrid working model requiring at least two days per week onsite at our Dublin office to facilitate collaboration.
