Position Summary

We seek a Staff Software Engineer to lead the development and strategic direction of Faire's Growth Platform. This platform includes communication systems, targeting, experimentation infrastructure, and developer tools that enhance user acquisition, activation, retention, conversion, and expansion across multiple product teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Steer the design and enhancement of scalable Growth Platform components such as messaging infrastructure, targeting capabilities, and growth primitives.
• Collaborate closely with internal users to identify pain points and enhance self-serve developer tools for improved experience and adoption.
• Architect high-performance systems that enable swift validation and scaling of growth initiatives.
• Develop frameworks and abstractions to simplify and accelerate launching new growth efforts.
• Provide technical insights that influence product and business strategies focused on growth levers.
• Boost developer productivity by evolving platform tools, frameworks, and operational procedures.
• Mentor engineers across teams to elevate technical excellence, systems thinking, and impact.
• Act as a cross-team technical leader, aligning stakeholders and driving execution across organizational units.

Candidate Profile

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven experience in building scalable platforms or reusable systems facilitating faster engineering workflows.
• Exceptional internal customer empathy demonstrated through creation of widely adopted, developer-friendly platforms or tooling.
• Expertise in backend (Kotlin, Java, C#, APIs, databases, distributed systems) or frontend (React, TypeScript/JavaScript, modern UI frameworks) development.
• Demonstrated ability to lead large, ambiguous cross-functional projects with measurable results.
• Experience in experimentation techniques including A/B testing and data-driven product development.
• System-oriented thinking focusing on scalability and long-term leverage rather than isolated feature delivery.
• Strong product and commercial awareness linking engineering decisions with growth outcomes.
• Established track record mentoring engineers and guiding technical vision beyond individual teams.
• Highly autonomous, strategic, and execution-focused in dynamic environments.
• Solid foundation in computer science principles or equivalent professional experience.

Compensation and Work Arrangement

This fully remote position based in Canada offers a salary range of 190500 to 262000 CAD annually, complemented by equity and comprehensive benefits. Hybrid employees on other teams typically attend office three days per week with some remote flexibility.
