Role Overview

As a Staff Software Engineer within the Revenue Intelligence division, you will steer the technical vision for systems aiding hospitality businesses in understanding demand, uncovering revenue potentials, and making informed pricing and commercial decisions. Responsibilities span customer-facing applications, backend services, data workflows, analytical databases, and cloud infrastructure. This role requires active technical leadership, addressing complex engineering challenges hands-on, setting architectures, enhancing security and reliability, minimizing technical debt, and uniting teams on strong technical foundations. Your contributions will shape not just individual features but the scalability, maintainability, and evolution of the Revenue Intelligence platform.

Responsibilities

• Define and advance the technical roadmap for Revenue Intelligence aligned with business and product strategies.
• Lead design and execution of complex features across frontend, backend APIs, event-driven services, data pipelines, and recommendation workflows.
• Preemptively identify and mitigate risks related to scalability, reliability, security, data integrity, observability, and operational aspects.
• Drive the incremental modernization of legacy systems ensuring stability and pace of delivery.
• Collaborate across.Product, Data Science, Infrastructure, Security, and engineering leadership to clarify ownership, define system boundaries, and determine future platform direction.
• Maintain a hands-on role in coding, technical investigations, design reviews, debugging, incident management, and tackling critical engineering tasks.
• Enhance the organization's technical capabilities by mentoring, setting standards, providing architecture guidance, fostering documentation, and encouraging constructive challenges.

Qualifications

• Over 10 years' experience in software engineering, with substantial technical leadership in complex production environments.
• Proficient in Python development, capable of guiding technical decisions beyond a single programming language.
• Solid knowledge in architecture and distributed systems covering API design, event-driven processing, consistency models, failure handling, scalability, and service boundaries.
• Experience with data-centric technologies such as PostgreSQL, Redshift, or comparable analytical data stores, including batch and stream data processing pipelines.
• Familiarity with recommendation engines, machine learning platforms, pricing systems, experimentation, or decision-support software.
• Strong expertise in cloud and platform engineering including AWS, containerization, Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm, Argo CD, CI/CD pipelines, observability tools, and secure production management.
• Demonstrated skill in leadership through influence, cross-team alignment, clear communication of complex trade-offs, and driving decisions from uncertain situations to execution.
• Track record in enhancing engineering quality via testing strategies, operational readiness, incident reviews, security practices, documentation, and sustainable standards.
• Good product insight and customer empathy to connect technical efforts with tangible business and hotelier benefits.
• Fluent in English with experience working collaboratively in globally distributed remote teams.

• Hands-on experience with .NET and C# technologies.
