Staff Pharmacist

Position Overview

The Staff Pharmacist role involves supporting the Pharmacy Manager in all facets of pharmacy operations while delivering individualized patient care through informed consultation and file analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding patient service and assist customers in locating merchandise within the store.
• Build and maintain strong collaboration with the Professional Services District Manager and other relevant parties.
• Accept and manage prescription orders and refill requests from customers, healthcare professionals, and hospitals.
• Ensure prescriptions are filled with accuracy, efficiency, and safety following established workflows, while counseling patients on their medications.
• Maintain proper storage conditions for all pharmaceutical products.
• Follow Walmart's standard operating procedures to carry out pharmacy processes.
• Operate all pharmacy equipment including register and computer systems effectively.
• Protect patient privacy, adhering to provincial regulatory standards at all times.
• Provide eligible services such as medication reviews and injections tailored to patient needs.
• Ensure the pharmacy operates during designated business hours.
• Work with the Pharmacy Manager to implement business plans that align with corporate objectives.

Compensation

The hourly wage ranges from $41.60 to $55.90 depending on relevant experience.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Possession of a valid Pharmacist license.
• Optional secondary permit in Alberta: Additional Prescribing Authorization (CA_APA).
