Role Overview

We are seeking an innovative Staff Engineer passionate about advancing automation and artificial intelligence throughout an organization. Join our IT Engineering team at one of the fastest-growing SaaS scale-ups to help establish the foundation of our AI-first future.

Challenges to Solve

• Developing automation and productivity tools that remain effective company-wide in a post-AI era
• Balancing traditional automation tools with advanced foundation models and agent-driven workflows
• Empowering and safeguarding citizen developers using specification-driven design and AI agents to implement organizational change reliably and at scale

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and refine an integrated toolchain combining traditional automation platforms (e.g., n8n, Google Workspace) with specification-driven and agentic methodologies, initially testing within IT and Security teams
• Advocate, mentor, and enable pioneering teams to adopt and maximize the platform's value while gathering feedback for continuous improvement
• Establish sustainable cultural practices to facilitate departmental adoption and scale the platform organization-wide
• Guide the evolution of IT operations towards comprehensive infrastructure-as-code models through hands-on architecture and design
• Contribute to moving the IT and Security functions from buying to building bespoke solutions
• Mentor and uplift the skills of the IT engineering team and wider departments, fostering a collaborative and robust engineering culture
• Promote shared automation and AI platforms to encourage cross-departmental adoption and break down operational barriers

Qualifications and Experience

• Proven experience at a Staff Engineer level, preferably within a successful, cloud-native hypergrowth SaaS environment
• Hands-on builder and systems thinker with coding experience, ideally within platform or Site Reliability Engineering teams; strong IT background is secondary to development capability
• Demonstrated success in transitioning AI adoption from experimental prompts to stable, production-level automated workflows or agents
• Deep expertise in infrastructure-as-code, modern CI/CD pipelines (such as GitHub Actions), and enterprise-grade workflow orchestration tools (like n8n or Zapier)
• Pragmatic engineering approach balancing fast, flexible agentic architectures against cost efficiency, with ability to decompose complex problems effectively
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills — adept at translating complex technical topics for non-technical citizen developers and senior executives
