Role Overview

We are seeking a Staff Data Scientist for our Quick Commerce team to enhance forecasting and operational capabilities. This critical position will help expand our offerings beyond food, targeting new market segments and boosting revenue. By innovating within Quick Commerce, you will contribute to making Delivery Hero the preferred platform for a diverse range of products worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy advanced forecasting algorithms utilizing machine learning, statistical inference, and optimization techniques.
• Contribute to the development of personalized recommendation models to improve customer engagement.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including product management, engineering, and design.
• Lead the technical strategy and long-term vision for machine learning platform architecture, advising teams on ML integration and ensuring system reliability and stability.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in data science, customer analytics, and retention, advocating best practices and frameworks for ML/DS across the Quick Commerce Operations Tribe.

Qualifications

• Over nine years of data science experience, including designing robust end-to-end data workflows.
• At least five years focused on forecasting methodologies or optimization techniques.
• Proven expertise building or scaling ML platforms throughout the full model lifecycle.
• Experience setting and enforcing ML best practices and standards at scale.
• Strong programming skills in Python, and familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker and cloud platforms (AWS or GCP).
• In-depth operational knowledge of AI frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch, along with experience in large language models (LLMs).
• Proven ability to influence and align stakeholders across departments without direct authority.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with orchestration platforms such as Airflow, Kubeflow, or MLflow.
• Expertise in supply chain planning and operations.
