Job Duties

• Conduct thorough safety and mechanical inspections on yard trucks and trailers slated for movement
• Operate vehicles to connect and disconnect trailers, including driving to trailers, backing up, raising the fifth wheel, making connections, removing wheel chocks, parking trailers at designated locations, and securing them with chocks
• Utilize forklifts to assemble cross-dock shipments
• Maintain cleanliness of floors and workspaces by performing housekeeping tasks
• Regularly lift weights up to 50 pounds

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is preferred
• Minimum age of 18 years
• Willingness to work flexible and non-traditional schedules
• Valid CDL Class A certification is preferred; additional Hazmat and Doubles endorsements are advantageous
• At least one year experience operating tractor-trailer combinations
• Knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations regarding equipment inspections and standards
