About the Role
We are seeking a commercially driven and experienced Spa Manager to oversee and develop Eidin Spa at Great National Hotel Ballina. This leadership role demands hands-on management of daily spa operations, a deep understanding of treatments, effective people management, and the ability to enhance revenue while ensuring outstanding customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily spa management including staffing, scheduling, bookings, and upkeep of facility standards.
- Lead and motivate the spa team, ensuring high levels of professionalism and customer service quality.
- Guarantee treatments, consultations, and follow-ups meet professional standards consistently.
- Administer spa finances such as revenue, labor costs, departmental budgets, and financial goals.
- Drive sales across treatments, packages, memberships, and retail products.
- Create promotional campaigns, seasonal offers, and marketing initiatives to attract and retain clients.
- Analyze booking trends to optimize staffing and operating hours in alignment with demand.
- Manage inventory including stock levels, purchasing, stock counts, and control systems.
- Maintain superior cleanliness, hygiene, appearance, and accurate record keeping throughout the spa.
- Address guest feedback and complaints promptly and professionally to maintain high satisfaction.
- Ensure spa policies, operating procedures, emergency protocols, and records are current and adhered to.
- Comply fully with health and safety standards, treatment guidelines, and hotel policies.
- Report maintenance issues and support preventive maintenance plans.
- Collaborate closely with hotel departments—management, sales, front desk, leisure, and F&B—to create packages and elevate the guest experience.
- Provide senior management with regular performance reports covering financials, staffing, sales, stock, and guest feedback.
- Establish and nurture positive relationships within the hotel team and local community.
- Continuously identify opportunities for service improvement, treatment enhancement, product offerings, and operational efficiency.
Essential Criteria
- At least three years' experience in spa management, assistant management, supervision, or a similar leadership role within spas, hotels, wellness, or beauty sectors.
- Certified qualifications (ITEC, CIBTAC, CIDESCO) in beauty therapy, body treatments, massage, or related fields.
- Comprehensive knowledge of professional treatments, client consultations, contraindications, and protocols.
- Experience leading, training, and developing spa staff.
- Strong leadership qualities with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to deliver high-level customer service and manage guest issues effectively.
- Capability in roster management, controlling labor costs, budgeting, stock oversight, and expense management.
- Commercial mindset with success in meeting sales targets for treatments, packages, and retail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and spa management or booking software.
- Good grasp of hygiene, health and safety regulations, risk assessments, and compliance requirements.
- Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently and maintain professionalism in high-paced, guest-centered settings.
- Flexible to work hours according to business needs, including weekends and peak seasons.
Desirable Attributes
- Higher education or formal qualifications in hospitality, business, spa management, or related disciplines.
- Previous experience managing a spa within a hotel setting.
- Skills in creating promotional campaigns, developing digital content, fostering local partnerships, and client retention efforts.
