Sourcing Specialist

About the Role

Production Equipment Europe is a prominent industrial distributor offering over 90,000 products throughout Europe. We are currently looking to add a Sourcing Specialist to our team based in Galway, Ireland.

The role involves collaborating closely with management and various cross-functional teams to drive cost efficiencies and seize business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct strategic sourcing and manage global procurement activities.
• Negotiate pricing, contract terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
• Identify and leverage opportunities for cost reductions, expand product offerings, and add value for customers.
• Perform regular market and expenditure analyses to support cost savings and supplier performance enhancements.
• Build and sustain supplier relationships to maintain high quality and cost-effective solutions.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to promote business development and capture new opportunities.
• Handle tender requests and manage contract negotiations.
• Contribute actively within a dynamic, experienced team to achieve company objectives.

Required Skills and Experience

• Relevant qualification or industry experience, preferably in supply chain or sourcing.
• Demonstrable experience in evaluating suppliers, conducting negotiations, and selecting vendors.
• Excellent organizational and administrative capabilities.
• Ability to comprehend technical product information.
• Strong negotiation skills and sound decision-making ability.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with SAP ERP is highly advantageous.
• Proactive and flexible mindset with strategic thinking aptitude.
• Capable of working effectively under pressure in a fast-moving environment.
• Team-oriented with good collaboration skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and adhere to agreed timelines.
