Role Overview
Join Bendigo Health as a Sonographer and utilize your ultrasound expertise across various departments beyond routine medical imaging. This includes support for remote obstetric tertiary clinics, early pregnancy clinics, and Breastscreen services. - Fortnightly hours: Up to 80 hours, including one accrued day off every four weeks if working full-time

Key Responsibilities
As an integral part of the Medical Imaging team, sonographers possess comprehensive knowledge and proficiency in diagnostic ultrasound. Responsibilities include performing a full spectrum of ultrasound examinations such as general, small parts, breast, vascular, obstetrics and gynecology (O&G), paediatrics, and interventional procedures, ensuring high-quality results with a patient-centric focus. Sonographers will also mentor undergraduate students, ultrasound trainees, and other team members. Depending on staffing and skills availability, credentialed sonographers may rotate within general imaging areas.
About Medical Imaging at Bendigo Health
The department operates around the clock, performing over 120,000 imaging procedures annually with a strong emphasis on patient care. Services cater to inpatients across Bendigo Health and nearby hospitals as well as outpatients referred by hospital clinics, general practitioners, and specialists. The team comprises radiologists, medical imaging technologists, sonographers, nurses, and administrative staff. Available modalities include ultrasound with eight dedicated rooms plus a portable unit, general radiography (five rooms, mobile x-ray, dental and DEXA), MRI (1.5T and 3T), CT scanners, digital subtraction angiography, fluoroscopy, mammography (including contrast-enhanced), theatre imaging, PET, and nuclear medicine.
