Solutions Architect

This position involves providing expert guidance on solution design, architecture standards, delivery, and engaging with various stakeholders throughout the process.

Responsibilities

• Design and specify scalable, fit-for-purpose technology solutions aligned with business and technical requirements.
• Evaluate different solution options considering cost, risks, benefits, and sustainability, providing clear recommendations.
• Develop architectural patterns, standards, and non-functional requirements for solutions.
• Offer technical guidance and oversight throughout the solution implementation lifecycle.
• Ensure that solutions integrate seamlessly within the broader technology environment.
• Analyze the current versus target state architectures to identify and address gaps.
• Review and evaluate proposed solutions, giving technical advice and recommendations.
• Incorporate appropriate information security measures and risk controls into solution designs.
• Identify and escalate technology and delivery risks as necessary.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of architecture standards, policies, and documentation.
• Facilitate workshops and discussions with business and technical stakeholders.
• Clarify complex technical ideas into accessible, business-relevant recommendations.
• Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends to evaluate their potential value and risks.

Candidate Profile

• Demonstrated ability to develop practical, scalable solution architectures aligned with business and technology goals.
• Extensive experience across application, integration, data, cloud, network, and security architecture domains.
• Skilled in assessing solution alternatives, setting architecture standards, and addressing non-functional requirements.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to navigate complex technical challenges.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills for collaboration with business and technical teams.
• Adept at translating complex technical concepts into simple, business-friendly language.
• Thorough understanding of architecture principles, standards, and preferred practices.
• Practical knowledge of information security principles as applicable to solution design.
• Experience collaborating with stakeholders including business users, project teams, analysts, and technology experts.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science, IT, or related fields is highly preferred.
• TOGAF certification is considered highly advantageous.
• Certifications as AWS Solutions Architect and/or Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect are also desirable.
