Solutions Architect | Enterprise Architect

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Solutions Architect | Enterprise Architect to design and implement scalable, secure technology solutions aligned with business goals. This senior full-time position in Abu Dhabi involves strategizing enterprise architecture standards, driving modernization efforts, and guiding technology investments to support long-term business success.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive solution and enterprise architecture plans consistent with business strategies and technology directions.
• Translate business needs into reliable, scalable, secure, and cost-efficient technology frameworks.
• Create high-level designs encompassing applications, infrastructure, data flows, security protocols, integration methods, and cloud environments.
• Maintain corporate architecture principles, standards, guidelines, and reference models.
• Analyze current technology setups to suggest modernization and optimization initiatives.
• Design architectures ensuring system scalability, high performance, availability, and ease of maintenance.
• Generate architectural diagrams, technical specs, solution blueprints, and decision-making documents.
• Lead architecture assessments and offer expert direction throughout delivery phases.
• Evaluate various tech options, platforms, and services based on functional and technical needs.
• Design integration solutions incorporating APIs, messaging systems, microservices, and event-driven designs.
• Work closely with engineering teams to ensure architecture standards are fulfilled.
• Engage with business stakeholders to align technology strategies with operational and future requirements.
• Coordinate with cloud, infrastructure, security, data, networking, and application teams for seamless architecture integration.
• Design and implement cloud adoption and migration strategies for platforms including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Assess solution security, data protection mechanisms, identity management, compliance, and technology-related risks.
• Identify architectural risks, technical debt, dependencies, and scalability limitations.
• Recommend improvements to reduce operational complexity and enhance agility.
• Conduct proof-of-concepts and evaluate emerging technologies and architectural approaches.
• Implement technology governance and ensure compliance with enterprise standards across projects.
• Review technical proposals, solution designs, vendor inputs, and implementation plans critically.
• Support budgeting, capacity planning, licensing, and total cost of ownership evaluations.
• Define non-functional requirements such as reliability, scalability, performance, security, availability, and disaster recovery.
• Develop technology modernization roadmaps for applications and platforms.
• Drive major transformation projects including cloud migration, digital transformation, system upgrades, and platform consolidation.
• Provide leadership and technical guidance to project managers, engineers, developers, vendors, and senior stakeholders.
• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Extensive experience in solution and enterprise architecture, software architecture, infrastructure, or consulting roles.
• Proficient understanding of enterprise architecture principles, governance, and frameworks.
• Proven track record in designing large-scale, complex technology solutions.
• In-depth knowledge of application architecture, integration patterns, API development, database systems, networking, and infrastructure fundamentals.
• Hands-on expertise in cloud architectures like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud platforms.
• Experience with microservices, distributed architectures, event-driven systems, and contemporary application platforms.
• Strong grasp of security architectures, identity/access management, encryption, and compliance requirements.
• Ability to create architectural diagrams and documentation using tools like Visio, Lucidchart, or Draw.io.
• Good understanding of software development life cycle, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and engineering methodologies.
• Experience working with enterprise integration, API management, messaging, and middleware technologies.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex technical challenges creatively.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills that influence decisions at multiple organizational levels.
• Ability to balance business needs, technical limitations, security, and delivery schedules effectively.
• Knowledge of technology governance, risk management, and architectural review processes.
• Experience coordinating with technology vendors, consulting partners, and solution providers is beneficial.
• Commercial awareness focused on technology budgeting and cost optimization strategies.
• Desirable certifications: TOGAF, AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, or equivalent cloud/security/technology credentials.
