Solution Consultant

Overview

IDC is seeking a Solution Consultant based in Singapore to craft and define impactful, tailored consulting solutions during the pre-sales phase. This elite group is pivotal to advancing IDC's custom business, occupying a visible and client-centered role at the crossroads of sales, client strategy, and delivery.

Role and Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Sales teams to comprehend client requirements, crafting bespoke, high-impact research and advisory proposals during pre-sales.
• Leverage domain expertise and product knowledge to convert complex client needs into scalable propositions aligned with IDC's offerings.
• Confirm feasibility with Delivery leads and liaise with analyst SMEs to ensure proposals can be executed effectively.
• Identify necessary internal and external resources, including analysts, data teams, and research vendors to meet project needs.
• Prepare and price proposals emphasizing clarity, accuracy, and practical delivery prospects.
• Ensure smooth transition to delivery teams by defining clear project scopes and act as a strategic problem-solving partner throughout delivery phases.
• Track client accounts to identify opportunities for additional projects, cross-selling, and upselling to promote sustainable revenue growth.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, market research, or a related domain; MBA is advantageous.
• Over 7 years' experience in management consulting, market research, or technology sales/business development; experience in project management or sales scoping is preferred.
• Solid understanding of hardware, software, services, and telecommunications vendors, including their strategic planning and market approaches.
• Insight into the operations and client services of market research organizations.
• Familiarity with IDC's and comparable firms’ coverage, product portfolios, custom proposal creation, and pricing is beneficial.
• Excellent business development writing abilities, professional client interaction skills, cross-functional teamwork, sound risk evaluation, and adaptability in a dynamic, matrixed environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Experience using Salesforce.com is advantageous.
• Willingness to travel approximately 10–15% for client engagements.
