Solution Consultant - GRC

Overview

The Solution Consultant will collaborate closely with sales teams to offer expert pre-sales support by crafting and presenting tailored solutions addressing complex challenges solvable via Workiva's platform. This role demands technical expertise in Workiva’s products, enabling effective delivery of architecture briefings, product demos, and value-driven communication that highlights the platform's advantages. The position also involves creating prototypes, proof of concepts, and tangible examples to illustrate the platform's value and practical application.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the pre-sales engagement process through phone, web, or onsite interactions, conducting discovery sessions to identify how Workiva's solutions can fulfill customer and prospect needs.
• Collaborate with the Client Services team to ensure smooth onboarding and long-term client success.
• Develop a multidisciplinary understanding of industries, functional departments, and use cases where Workiva’s solutions can effect meaningful impact.
• Deliver both broad and targeted demonstrations focusing on Financial Reporting (including private financials, capital market transactions, SEC/Advanced, and management reporting) as well as Control essentials.
• Innovate new use cases or leverage existing templates to provide compelling evidence of the solution’s business impact and benefits.
• Conduct process assessments, build proof of concepts to affirm requirements, and develop customer-specific business cases demonstrating value.
• Support cross-domain coaching, mentoring, or training of peers when appropriate.
• Coordinate with Product Marketing, Client Services, Scoping, and Customer Success teams to meet collective objectives.
• Assist Sales in formulating account strategies aligned with Workiva’s goals and priorities.

Mandatory Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or relevant equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 4 years of experience in presales, solution consulting, technical sales, or client-facing SaaS implementation roles.
• Proficiency in both English and German languages.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience presenting and engaging with business or IT leadership at management and executive levels.
• Strong communication abilities including verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Highly self-driven with a results-oriented and continuous improvement mindset.
• Practical technical knowledge of SaaS offerings, cloud platforms, and system architectures.
• Background in ERP, Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC), General Ledger (GL), Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), or analytics and reporting solutions.
• Skilled at delivering persuasive, value-focused software demonstrations.

Other Information

• Travel up to 40% may be necessary to attend team and corporate meetings, build relationships, and promote company interests.
• Reliable internet connectivity is required to support remote work capabilities within flexible work arrangements.
