Job description
Role Overview
Aligned Automation is seeking an experienced Solution Architect to join a critical client project based in Limerick, Ireland. This senior position requires someone with a minimum of eight years' experience to provide specialist architectural leadership. The architect will embed within the client's team to ensure solution consistency, governance over delivery, and alignment among multiple stakeholders throughout a complex technology programme.
This role demands a seasoned professional who can independently manage architectural decisions, serving as the main technical authority and bridging the gap between strategic architecture and everyday delivery in a challenging, multi-stakeholder environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full ownership and lead of architectural contributions during all design phases, ensuring solutions comply with client standards, regulatory frameworks, and are technically sustainable long-term.
- Serve as the chief technical decision-maker within the project, providing clear guidance on architecture, design compromises, and solution approaches.
- Participate actively in Agile processes such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, embedding architectural insights throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Conduct independent analyses of complex technical issues, weigh options, and present well-substantiated recommendations to senior leaders.
- Drive resolution efforts across requirements, design, build, and transition stages by identifying risks early and recommending mitigation approaches.
- Manage prioritization by aligning project objectives, scope limits, and delivery sequences with architectural and technical constraints.
- Define and enforce best practices for validation, testing methodologies, and quality assurance across the programme.
- Ensure strict compliance with architectural standards, applicable regulations, and governance frameworks.
- Produce, review, and sanction documentation supporting validation, quality control, and compliance, including architectural decision records and design artifacts.
- Mentor project team members to advance architectural rigor and consistent delivery standards across the programme.
- Represent architectural interests within governance forums such as steering committees and technical review boards at both sprint and project levels.
Qualifications
- At least eight years of progressive experience in Solution Architecture or senior technical leadership roles.
- Demonstrated ability to act as the primary technical authority in complex, client-facing IT projects.
- Proven track record in delivering architectural documents such as High-Level Designs (HLD), Low-Level Designs (LLD), decision records, and compliance-related artifacts within multi-stakeholder settings.
- Strong practical knowledge of Agile methodologies applied at programme scale.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related fields.
- Preferred experience operating within Irish or European Union regulatory and compliance standards.
- Prior involvement in regulated or mission-critical sectors is advantageous.
