Role Overview

Join Graphcore’s dynamic Software Infrastructure team, where you’ll play a key role in scaling and managing critical infrastructure. You will design and maintain essential tools and services that support the broader software teams, enhancing the automation of build, test, deployment, and productisation for Machine Learning Software components. This role involves working on cutting-edge High-Performance Computing AI platforms and gaining hands-on experience with distributed systems.

The Team

The Software Infrastructure squad provides foundational platforms and services supporting software development across the organization. Their scope includes overseeing continuous integration platforms, build engineering, component integration, packaging, and release management. The team operates with squad autonomy, fostering engineer ownership over services and focusing on sustainable engineering solutions by minimizing repetitive manual tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, manage, and own tools and services which facilitate the software organization.
• Deploy and maintain Kubernetes clusters that support development, testing, and scaling of Graphcore hardware and software stacks.
• Administer cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform.

Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications:

• Hands-on development experience in the Go programming language.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Competence in managing and developing in Linux-based environments.
• Solid understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) methodologies.
• Strong expertise in Kubernetes development and deployment.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Experience developing Kubernetes Controllers.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or OpenTofu.
• Experience using GitHub Actions for automation workflows.
• Knowledge of distributed High-Performance Computing (HPC) systems.
• Familiarity with contemporary observability tools like Prometheus.
• Programming skills in Python, C++, or similar languages.
