Position Overview
Join Teletrac Navman, part of Vontier, as an experienced Software Firmware Architect to drive the evolution of embedded firmware architecture that supports next-generation connected vehicle technologies. This senior leadership role involves shaping product strategy, mentoring engineers, and delivering reliable, scalable, and secure embedded solutions used worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and refine the strategic direction for firmware architecture across the embedded product suite.
- Create robust, secure, and maintainable embedded software designs.
- Lead architecture, design, and code review sessions within firmware teams.
- Encourage adoption of best practices, architectural standards, and design patterns.
- Collaborate closely with product, validation, and engineering teams to ensure quality outcomes.
- Assess and incorporate new technologies into existing firmware platforms.
- Contribute insights to product definitions and technical roadmap planning.
- Mentor and develop the skills of firmware engineering staff.
- Promote continuous process improvements and the use of advanced technologies.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Over 10 years of experience developing embedded firmware in C.
- Demonstrated expertise in designing and architecting embedded systems and products.
- Deep understanding of software design principles, patterns, and best practices.
- Experience operating within Agile development frameworks.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong communication skills, capable of influencing technical direction and simplifying complex concepts.
- Passion for mentoring and fostering engineering talent.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholder groups.
