Software Engineering Manager

About the Role

Broadcom's VMware division, a leader in cloud infrastructure, data center networking, and security, is hiring a Software Engineering Manager to join the Platform Group focused on VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF). This position involves working on innovative solutions that empower private cloud software, engaging directly with major customers to influence the future of a leading on-premises platform used by hundreds of thousands globally.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a software engineering team to deliver critical Kubernetes platform functionalities for an on-premises platform.
• Manage project timelines, resources, dependencies, and risks to drive successful project execution.
• Coordinate across cross-functional and geographically-distributed teams for new feature delivery and product maintenance.
• Guide career development and growth for team members.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership to build and test scalable, high-performance platform features aligned with development goals.
• Recruit, retain, and mentor top engineering talent.
• Conduct performance evaluations and offer consistent feedback.
• Implement and uphold development processes to maintain quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent field.
• Over 20 years of experience in the computer software industry.
• More than 10 years in team management with proven leadership capabilities.
• Strong track record of executing projects on time while ensuring quality standards.
• Experience in project management and product development lifecycles.
• In-depth knowledge of distributed systems and application architecture.
• Comprehensive understanding of operating systems and knowledge in compute, storage, and networking domains.
• Proven prior management experience delivering on-premises platform solutions.
