Job description
Position Overview
This role demands a skilled Software Engineering Manager who not only brings deep technical expertise across multiple domains but also excels in leading and nurturing a team of engineers to consistently deliver high-quality software products. Candidates will have significant experience in software development, technical leadership, and people management, alongside experience integrating generative AI or large language model (LLM) tools into workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit, mentor, and retain a motivated, high-performing engineering team, ensuring their career development and performance management.
- Collaborate with product management and technical leads to shape and execute the technical strategy for user feedback and related product areas.
- Lead complex architectural decisions, maintaining rigorous standards for code quality via thorough design and code reviews.
- Oversee project timelines to ensure delivery of reliable software products and communicate progress and risks effectively to organizational stakeholders.
- Work closely with product teams and engineers across various departments to meet customer needs, influence product strategy, and maximize team impact.
Minimum Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent practical expertise.
- At least 8 years of software development experience.
- Minimum 3 years in technical leadership roles.
- At least 2 years in people or team leadership capacities.
- Experience implementing generative AI tools or LLM interfaces into workflows.
Preferred Qualifications
- A master’s degree or PhD in computer science or a related technical discipline.
- 10+ years in software development.
- 3+ years of technical leadership experience.
- 3+ years managing teams of software engineers.
- Proficiency in full-stack and mobile application development.
