Software Engineering Director

Role Overview

We are looking for a seasoned, strategic, and technically adept Software Engineering Director to lead and manage software development teams, oversee engineering operations, and ensure delivery of superior software solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for formulating engineering strategies, directing technical resources, and guaranteeing that software products align with business goals, meet performance benchmarks, and comply with security protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight to software engineering teams, development efforts, and technical operations.
• Create and implement engineering strategies, technology roadmaps, and software development standards.
• Oversee the entire software development life cycle, including planning, design, deployment, and maintenance phases.
• Manage engineering managers, developers, and other technical staff.
• Maintain software quality, system reliability, scalability, security, and overall performance.
• Define and enforce best practices related to coding, testing, code reviews, and deployment procedures.
• Collaborate with product management, business units, and executive leadership to align technology initiatives with organizational objectives.
• Control engineering budgets, allocate resources effectively, manage project timelines, and plan workforce needs.
• Assess new technologies and provide recommendations to enhance engineering efficiency.
• Supervise system architecture design, technical decision-making, and cross-platform integration.
• Identify potential technical risks and apply suitable mitigation strategies.
• Track engineering performance, project status, and key performance indicators.
• Contribute to recruitment efforts, staff development, performance assessments, and technical training programs.
• Ensure adherence to data protection, cybersecurity, and relevant technology compliance standards.
• Perform additional duties as delegated by leadership.

Candidate Requirements

• Possess a bachelor's or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a similar discipline.
• Extensive experience in software development, engineering leadership, or technology management roles.
• Strong expertise in software architecture, system design, software development methodologies, and cloud-based technologies.
• Demonstrated ability to lead engineering teams and successfully deliver complex software projects.
• Excellent leadership skills accompanied by strong communication, strategic planning, and decision-making capabilities.
• Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles, software quality assurance practices, and system performance optimization.
• Experience working with Agile development frameworks, DevOps practices, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), and project management.
