Job description
About Stripe
Stripe is a leading financial infrastructure platform utilized globally by companies ranging from large enterprises to ambitious startups, facilitating payments, revenue growth, and new business opportunities. Our mission is to expand the internet economy's GDP, offering an opportunity to meaningfully impact the global financial landscape.
About the Security Business Enablement Team
The Security Business Enablement (SBE) team serves as Stripe's commercial security liaison, connecting internal security functions with the Go-to-Market organization. We ensure that security and compliance requirements never obstruct or delay business deals. Our role centers on cultivating customer trust by providing consistent and precise evidence of Stripe's security stance throughout sales processes and beyond.
We handle end-to-end security due diligence activities such as questionnaire responses, compliance documentation, live security reviews, gap and exception management, contractual security exhibits, rapid reaction during industry events, and executive briefings. We engage directly with customers, often up to the CISO level, and empower sales teams for independent handling of security conversations. Our assessments frequently encompass security, privacy, business continuity, and resilience, translating complex control details into accessible language for procurement, legal teams, and CISOs.
Role Overview
This position focuses on the intersection of security, artificial intelligence (AI), and business engagement. The core responsibility is to design and build an AI-driven platform that delivers validated, traceable answers to security inquiries for internal sales teams and customers, replacing inconsistent ad-hoc responses with source-verified content. The platform also integrates support for multiple cloud environments and Stripe’s extensive product portfolio, maintaining accuracy amidst infrastructure and product evolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and implement an AI-based platform providing reliable and promptly validated responses to security questions, benefiting both sales teams and customers.
- Develop retrieval mechanisms, content orchestration pipelines, and integration layers that surpass off-the-shelf tools, including multi-cloud support and comprehensive product integration.
- Create automation workflows to continuously update security content, involving automated refresh cycles and routing for expert and legal validation.
- Manage industry-standard security certifications and frameworks, e.g., Shared Assessments SIG and Cloud Security Alliance CAIQ.
- Design analytics and evaluation tools to track and enhance the quality and scope of the security content library.
- Extend the platform to power both public and authenticated Trust Centers, offering customers self-service insights into Stripe's security, privacy, resilience, and compliance.
- Collaborate closely with security analysts and stakeholders across Security, Privacy, Legal, and Compliance to expand coverage and maintain operational health and reliability of systems built.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least two years of experience engineering production software systems.
- Proficient coding skills in any programming language and flexible to learn new languages during employment.
- Familiarity or quick adaptability with retrieval-augmented architectures, content pipelines, and AI or Large Language Model integrations.
- Experience designing workflow automation, including scheduled execution, approval processes, and managing multi-stakeholder reviews.
- Ability to instrument and analyze systems to measure quality and performance and use findings to drive enhancements.
- Demonstrated ability to independently initiate, own, and complete projects.
- Strong communication skills enabling effective collaboration with non-engineering teams including security analysts, sales, and legal.
- Proactive in seeking impactful opportunities and capable of navigating complex, cross-functional environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience building AI-powered products or retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems and knowledge management platforms.
- Background in developing evaluation methodologies for AI systems, such as retrieval quality assessment, answer precision, or addressing coverage gaps.
- Knowledge of cloud security principles, especially involving AWS or Azure.
- Experience with security-related software engineering, compliance tooling, or Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) platforms.
- Familiarity with security assessment and compliance standards like Shared Assessments SIG, Cloud Security Alliance CAIQ, SOC 2, PCI DSS, or ISO 27001.
- Expertise in content management systems, structured content modeling, or documentation-as-code practices.
- Proven ability to create scalable customer-facing or internal self-service tools.
- Comfort working in small teams with significant individual contributions.
Workplace Expectations
Employees in this role based in Stripe’s Dublin office are expected to spend at least 50% of their working time on-site monthly, supporting collaboration and direct user engagement. Attendance requirements may vary by role and team.
Compensation and Benefits
The anticipated annual salary range for this position in Dublin is between 85,000 and 127,600 Euros, with adjustments possible based on location. Sales roles may have this range inclusive of bonuses or commissions. Final compensation depends on experience, qualifications, and location, with detailed benefits discussed throughout the hiring process. Additional benefits may include company equity, bonuses, retirement planning, health insurance, and wellness stipends.
Application Encouragement
Stripe values passion, resilience, and integrity, encouraging candidates with diverse backgrounds and unconventional career paths to apply. We welcome critical thinkers who challenge the status quo and embrace varied perspectives.
