Software Engineer - Python

About the Role

At Hudson River Trading (HRT), software engineers play a critical role by writing code that directly drives the core business. As a Python Engineer, you will contribute to building reliable, efficient software across our company, working with modern Python technologies and distributed computing. Our main programming languages include C++ for latency-critical paths and Python for tooling, monitoring, and data processing.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software used across all teams and offices, leveraging advanced Python practices to enhance our systems.
• Work on diverse projects such as improving job scheduling in a vast compute cluster and developing developer tools and Python environments.
• Automate, deploy, and monitor systems involved in global trade management and post-trade analytics.
• Create tools to verify hardware and support data ETL pipelines spanning market data, images, and text inputs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.

• Deep understanding of the Python ecosystem and adherence to best development practices.
• Excellent skills in software design, debugging, and complex problem solving.
• Familiarity with UNIX/Linux operating systems, including system and network performance aspects.
