Software Engineer (Node.js, TypeScript)

Role Overview

Take part in developing impactful cloud-based software using modern AI tools. This engineering position suits individuals who enjoy addressing product challenges, crafting well-structured code, and maintaining reliable services at scale.

You will develop secure, scalable backend microservices and APIs using TypeScript, AWS cloud technologies, and contemporary engineering standards. Join a vibrant product engineering team where you'll manage features end-to-end, share technical design input, maintain production stability, and expand your knowledge across backend, cloud, and AI-assisted development.

Key Duties

• Architect, develop, test, and enhance backend services and APIs powered by Node.js, TypeScript, and AWS.
• Take full responsibility for specific features from conception through deployment, including ensuring code quality and providing production support.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, UX designers, and fellow engineers to convert requirements into dependable solutions.
• Engage in technical design reviews, provide thorough code feedback, and uphold engineering best practices.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools to streamline research, coding, debugging, testing, and documentation while exercising professional judgment to verify outputs.
• Advance system security, observability, and maintainability by enhancing monitoring, reliability, and everyday development procedures.

Candidate Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of experience professionally developing software applications in agile teams.
• Proven backend development with Node.js and TypeScript, including API or microservice construction.
• Experience working with React or Angular in product development settings.
• Hands-on familiarity with AWS cloud services and cloud-native development, testing, and deployment.
• Comfortable using SQL databases, Git version control, Docker workflows, and modern continuous integration/continuous deployment pipelines.
• Awareness and practical use of AI-assisted developer tools, employing them responsibly regarding privacy, security, and quality.
• Strong communication abilities, teamwork orientation, and confidence to contribute meaningfully to technical discussions and code reviews.

Preferred but Not Required

• Knowledge of infrastructure as code concepts and tools such as CDK or Terraform.
• Experience with observability platforms, incident management, or monitoring production environments.
• Interest or understanding of large language model (LLM) concepts like tokens, embeddings, hallucinations, and safe software applications.

Location & Work Model

While headquartered in New York, this role is based in London, England. We follow a hybrid system requiring onsite presence approximately 50% of the time to foster collaboration and innovation.
